Senior Trip!!!

We are going to Pigeon Forge for our Senior Trip this year. We will leave Monday, June 6 at 8:30 am and return to Salem Wednesday, June 8 after lunch. The trip cost is $125 and you will need to bring some spending money ($50-$75). Also, you will need to bring your Bible, clothes, and an air mattress with sleeping bag if you have it. We are going to have a great trip where anything could happen (in a good way!) We hope you are excited and ready to spend a great couple of days together!

Summer Youth Camp

We will be traveling to Black Mountain, North Carolina for our Youth Camp this summer, July 11-15. Global Youth Ministries is hosting the camp. You can view their website at www.globalyouthministry.org to see details about the camp and what they have to offer. It's going to be a great time for our students to grow together in Christ and to come back home ready to serve God. Sign ups are availible in the Student Welcome Center on Sundays, at ROCK on Wednesdays, and by email or phone. The cost is $275, with a $50 discount for families with two or more students attending.

A $100 deposit is due June 8th.

Remaining total is due July 10.

June 26 we will have a parent meeting to cover all details of the trip in the ROCK House at 6:30pm. All students, parents, and chaperones need to attend this meeting.

We are looking forward to spending a great week with our favorite people and worshiping God who is worthy. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

DiscipleNOW Weekend!

This years DiscipleNOW is going to be AMAZING! Here is some information in case you need it.

Who: Middle School and High School students alike!
When: May 6-8, Friday to Sunday (Mother's Day Weekend) We will end at the 9:45 service Sunday morning.
Where: We will be attending the RUSH Conference at The Rock Ranch http://www.rushministries.com/R.U.S.H._Ministries/Welcome.html
Cost: $40, you may need some cash for free time on Saturday (what an oxymoron), there will be free games as well.

Registration ends Sunday, April 24 (Easter Sunday).

We have several events coming up this spring and summer. Here is a list and some available information.

1. April 4 - Middle School Indoor Rock Climbing - 9am-2pm. Cost is $25, lunch after the event also. Location - Stone Summit Rock Climbing.


2. April 5 - High School Indoor Rock Climbing - 10am - 3pm. Cost is $25, lunch after the event also. Location - Stone Summit Rock Climbing.


3. April 7 - Middle School Stone Mountain/Laser Show. Cost is free, may need money for snacks. Location - Stone Mountain Park.


4. April 8 - High School Stone Mountain/Laser Show. Cost is free, may need money for snacks. Location - Stone Mountain Park.


5. April 16 - High School Prom Alternative 5:00-TBA. Cost is $25. Location - Medieval Times, plan to dress prom-like.


6. April 16 - Prom Pancake Party - After Prom. Cost is free. Location - ROCK House.


7. April 17 - Third Day Concert - Time TBA. Cost is TBA. Location - Macon Colosseum.


8. April 20 - The Dove Awards - Time TBA. Cost is $25. Location - Fox Theater.


9. May 6-8 - Disciple NOW. Cost is $40. Location - RUSH Conference at The Rock Ranch. We will be staying in host homes.


10. June 15-18 - Atlanta Fest. Times are 15th: 7pm-11pm, 16th-18th: 9am-11pm. Cost is $60, does not include food. Location - Stone Mountain Park.


11. July 11-15 - Youth Camp. Cost is $275 ($250 each for multiples). Location - Black Mountain, NC - Global Youth Camp.

This information will be updated as information is gained. We hope that students and adults can join us on each event! Sign up sheets can be found Wednesday nights at ROCK and Sundays in the Student Welcome Center located upstairs on the Sunday School Hall.

Jesus' Prayer for Believers

It is humbling to know that Jesus prayed for me and all believers just before He was arrested and sent to the cross. He spent an important time in prayer, with the stress of the crucifiction coming, to talk to God about what he was going to accomplish and the weight it would have on the world through our history and future. He prayed for himself to carry the burden of sacrifice to completion. He prayed for his disciples who would soon be without their teacher and would need protection to carry the church couragously. Then he prayed for all believers. That includes me and anyone else who has professed faith in Jesus as their Savior.

"I pray also for those who will believe in me through their (the disciples) message,
that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you have loved them even as you have loved me.
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me.
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

John 17:20-26

The thoughts and desires of Jesus, God Himself, about me are for me to know His love is as strong for believers as it is for His son, and that believers would be united in His love and the truth about who He is as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus did the will of the Father with the knowledge, understanding, and shared desire of God's plan, Jesus wants you and me to be united with him. God wants us to know of His love, to know His Son Jesus, and to live a life that agrees with His plan to save the lost and glorify Him on this earth until Jesus returns. Do you want to be that person? How have you been that person this week? How can you be that person this week?
